Description
On Nov 3, 2025, the Balancer V2 "Composable/Stable" pool system was exploited. Attackers exploited an access-control bug in the Vault plus a rounding/math flaw in pool share (BPT) calculation, allowing them to withdraw far more assets than they deposited. Roughly US$120-130 million was stolen across multiple chains (Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Polygon, etc.). Balancer confirmed only V2 pools were impacted, paused what it could, and initiated an investigation and bounty. The event underscores that even audited protocols can be severely vulnerable-especially in cross-chain deployments.
