Edwin van Cleef

Description

Edwin VanCleef was the leader of the Defias Brotherhood, a criminal organization he founded after being a master stonemason and guildmaster of the Stonemasons Guild in Stormwind City. He was originally a skilled "roofwalker" known for defeating mechanical defenses and was instrumental in rebuilding Stormwind after the First War. Disillusioned when the city's nobility refused to pay the workers who rebuilt the city, he led a rebellion and was banished, subsequently forming the Defias Brotherhood to seek revenge against the corrupt nobility and the people of Stormwind. He became a significant threat to the kingdom, leading raids on caravans and farms in Westfall, and was eventually killed by Alliance forces during an assault on the Deadmines. His daughter, Vanessa VanCleef, was raised by a foster family in Westfall after witnessing her father's death. She later took over leadership of the Defias Brotherhood, driven by a desire for revenge against those responsible for her father's death. Vanessa became the final boss in the heroic mode of the Deadmines dungeon in World of Warcraft, where she is depicted as a powerful outlaw rogue who uses explosive tactics and summons minions to defend herself. She is known for her role in completing her father's unfinished plans, including the completion of the Defias ship.
