What is GRAVE? GRAVE is a decentralized protocol for building, deploying, and scaling autonomous AI agents onchain. Built on Base (Ethereum L2), it provides the full infrastructure stack needed to create self-operating agents that execute complex tasks without human intervention. Core Architecture GRAVE consists of three layers: (1) The Agent Runtime — a WASM-based execution environment that runs agent logic securely off-chain with onchain verification. (2) The Deployment Layer — smart contracts on Base that handle agent registration, permission management, and execution proofs. (3) The Coordination Network — a peer-to-peer mesh that enables multi-agent collaboration and task routing. Creating an Agent Agents are defined using the GRAVE SDK. You specify your agent's name, type (Sentinel for monitoring, Executor for trading, Oracle for data feeds, Guardian for security), and its logic triggers. The SDK compiles your agent into bytecode that can be deployed onchain. Each agent gets a unique contract address and can be configured with custom permissions and resource limits. Wallet Connection GRAVE supports any EVM-compatible wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, WalletConnect, etc.). Your wallet is used to sign deployment transactions, manage agent permissions, and pay for gas on Base. GRAVE never auto-connects — you always control when your wallet is linked. Your private keys never leave your wallet. Deploying Onchain Once your agent is configured and wallet connected, deployment is a single transaction on Base. The deployment process: (1) Compiles agent bytecode, (2) Verifies the contract source on BaseScan, (3) Broadcasts the deployment transaction, (4) Confirms onchain. Your agent is then live and can be invoked by other agents, users, or automated triggers. Agent Types Sentinel — Autonomous monitoring agents that watch onchain events, price feeds, and protocol state changes. Trigger alerts or automated responses when conditions are met. Executor — Trading and DeFi agents that execute swaps, manage positions, and optimize yield across protocols. Oracle — Data feed agents that bridge offchain data (APIs, webhooks, IoT) into onchain consumable format. Guardian — Security agents that monitor for exploits, anomalous transactions, and protocol vulnerabilities in real-time. Tokenomics GRAVE uses a native token for governance, staking, and agent execution fees. Agent operators stake tokens to guarantee execution quality. Token holders can vote on protocol upgrades, fee structures, and treasury allocation. A portion of execution fees is burned, creating deflationary pressure as agent usage grows. Base Network GRAVE is built on Base, Coinbase's Ethereum L2. Base offers sub-second finality, low gas costs (typically <$0.01 per transaction), and full EVM compatibility. This makes it ideal for agent workloads that require frequent onchain interactions. GRAVE agents can also bridge to other L2s for cross-chain operations.
